Radix as a Finalist for the Top of Mind Compliance 2018 Award

The award recognized Radix's company ethics and integrity from the market’s perspective

Ethics2 2018 International Compliance Congress, São Paulo

For the second consecutive year, Radix was one of the finalists for the Top of Mind LEC Compliance 2018 Award at the International Compliance Congress, the largest and most important compliance event in Latin America. In the Corporate Compliance/ Company category, Radix was up for the award along with companies such as Siemens Brazil and Microsoft Corporation. On the other hand, in the Corporate Compliance/ People category, Fábio Lopes, Compliance Officer at Radix, was one of the finalists along with Alexandre Serpa, Director of Compliance Director for Latin America and Canada at Allergan, and Gustavo Biagioli, Legal Director and Compliance at JLL.

Promoted by LEC (Legal, Ethic and Compliance), the 6th International Compliance Congress took place between May 8th - 10th in São Paulo, Brazil. The event addressed the main challenges companies’ compliance departments are faced with. The event also presented the Top of Mind LEC Compliance 2018 award.

The award was divided into 9 categories for people and both public and private entities who have made an impact in compliance and anti-corruption efforts in Brazil. The voting process had two different stages; the first one included public voting, and the second, included all the individuals and companies who were voted for during the first stage.

"To have been elected as the Top of Mind in Compliance company in 2017, and to have been among the three finalists of the award this year is extremely significant. This represents the recognition of the compliance program at Radix and the recognition of the company’s ethics and integrity by the market" comments Fábio Lopes.

The minister of Transparency and Comptroller of the Union (CGU), Wagner Rosário, introduced the event with a lecture, presenting the initiatives taken to combat corruption, highlighting the incentives aimed at company integrity, and the role of the CGU in the Leniency agreements. In addition to this, Rosário talked about the compliance program at Radix as a benchmark for the market. Inspiration, learning, and networking were the highlights of the event, which gathered about 700 professionals from around the world.

Radix partners, Alan Bittar and his company Marques & Bittar Advogados also participated in the event. They ran for the Compliance Consulting/ People and Compliance Consulting/ Company award, respectively. Competitors for the first category included Gustavo Lucena, Regulatory Risk Leader at Deloitte and Erica Sarrubi, partner at Maeda, Ayers & Sarubbi Advogados. As for the second category, competitors included law firms such as Maeda, Ayres & Sarubbi Advogados and Taquil & Chequer as competitors.
